He earned a Bachelor of Arts in criminology and criminal justice, with a minor in psychology, from Carleton University with highest honours, and went on to earn his law degree from the University of Ottawa, graduating cum laude. He completed his articles at a national law firm in Ottawa and was called to the bar in 2013.
