About Kathleen Kennedy

Employers bring all kinds of labour and employment questions to Kathleen Kennedy, an associate in the Toronto office of Filion Wakely Thorup Angeletti LLP. Kathleen's practice isn't limited to one corner of the field, and the employers Kathleen has advised come from many industries, public sector and private alike.

A background in human resources sits underneath that work. Kathleen holds a post-graduate certificate in human resource management from Conestoga College, and that training brings a practical sense of the problems employers deal with every day. Law school was at the University of Windsor, followed by a summer position and articles at a firm devoted to labour and employment work before the move to Filion. Kathleen was called to the Ontario bar in 2025.

Volunteering was a big part of law school. Kathleen joined Pro Bono Students Canada's Youth ID Clinic as a first-year student and led it in second and third year, with a team that helped marginalized young people in Windsor obtain identification documents. That service earned Pro Bono Students Canada's 2024 Chief Justice Wagner Award. Kathleen also served as president of the Labour and Employment Law Society at Windsor Law.

In July 2026 Kathleen wrote a piece for the firm on Sharpe v. CTS Canadian College, a Divisional Court ruling about procedural fairness at the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. Outside the office, you'll find Kathleen on a pickleball court, out on walks with the dog, or travelling.
