About Katherine

Katherine Reiffenstein represents corporations in Alberta's oil, gas and chemical industries in commercial litigation, and assists individuals and companies with negligence, breach of contract and product liability claims. She began her articles with the Alberta Court of Appeal and Court of King's Bench in 2000 and joined Code Hunter in 2002, and has appeared before the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board, all levels of court in Alberta and the Federal Court of Canada. Her practice includes petroleum and natural gas lease disputes, surface rights and land titles issues, shareholder and partnership disputes, real estate litigation, and employment conflicts involving wrongful dismissal, as well as judicial reviews and constitutional matters. She earned her J.D. from the University of Victoria in 2000 and was called to the Alberta bar in 2001. She has volunteered with Calgary Legal Guidance's evening advice clinic since 2002 and has served in leadership roles with several community and professional organizations.
