About Edward
Edward W. Halt, K.C. is a founding partner of Peacock Linder Halt & Mack LLP with more than 30 years of litigation and dispute resolution experience. He graduated as gold medalist from the University of Saskatchewan Law School in 1986, articled with the Saskatchewan Department of Justice, practiced briefly in Regina, and then served as a law clerk to Madam Justice Bertha Wilson of the Supreme Court of Canada. He relocated to Calgary in 1989 and has practiced civil litigation with an emphasis on professional liability, directors' and officers' liability, corporate commercial litigation, securities litigation, and franchise litigation, along with insurance, insolvency, and construction matters. He was admitted to the Saskatchewan Bar in 1987 and the Alberta Bar in 1990, and has been named Lawyer of the Year in Calgary for Malpractice Law (2015, 2018, 2021), Directors' and Officers' Liability Practice (2016), and Appellate Practice (2020) by Best Lawyers in Canada.
