About Kate
Kate Anderson is proudly Red River Métis and a citizen of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government. She serves as Special Projects Lawyer, where she has collaborated with the firm's leadership team to create policies, resources, and systems, and focuses primarily on advocating for section 35 rights, with practice areas including Aboriginal and treaty rights, Aboriginal title, First Nation constitutions, laws and policy, and Indigenous legal orders and law. She joined the firm as an articling student in 2024 and returned in 2025; during law school she was a library intern and reference assistant at the Sir James Dunn Law Library and worked as a research assistant on projects revitalizing Mi'kmaq laws and governance. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with first class honours (2018) and a Master of Arts in English (2020), both from the University of Calgary, a Master of Information (2024) from Dalhousie University, and a Juris Doctor with a Certificate in Aboriginal and Indigenous Laws (2024) from the Schulich School of Law. She was called to the Law Society of British Columbia in 2025.
