About Robert

Robert (Bob) Vangenne practises commercial and corporate law at his own firm in Victoria, BC, with a focus on technology, IP, and e-commerce matters, including AI, software, and game development. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management and a Juris Doctor with specializations in corporate commercial law and IT, IP, and e-commerce law, the latter earned while studying in Australia. Before opening his own practice, he spent about 20 years as a business owner in Taiwan and Canada, including several years in Taiwan where he developed his Mandarin language skills, and he has led business negotiations in Canada, Taiwan, and China. He has researched and published on internet-related legal issues, including copyright in virtual worlds and ICANN's domain name policies, and has a particular interest in franchise law from his own experience as a franchisee.
