About Kara

Kara Takagi is a construction and commercial litigation lawyer who advises national contractors, subcontractors, and MUSH-sector institutions on complex, multi-party disputes, including P3 disputes, industrial, commercial, and institutional arbitrations, lien claims, and adjudications. She also advises on contract drafting and negotiations to help clients mitigate risk before disputes arise, and has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario and the Federal Court of Appeal. She has been recognized as one of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Canada in construction law since 2024. She was called to the bar in 2017, earning her J.D. from the University of Saskatchewan and a B.A. (Hons.) from the University of Toronto.
