About Shawn

Shawn Cymbalisty's corporate and securities practice at Osler centers on investment funds, asset management, private equity, securities lending and derivatives regulation. He has advised pension funds, other institutional investors and fund managers on matters covering exchange-traded funds, mutual funds, hedge funds and private equity vehicles, including fund formation, portfolio compliance and investment management agreements. Cymbalisty has acted for issuers and underwriters on corporate finance work and supported the launch and financing of a number of emerging companies. He is also a licensed professional engineer with a background designing automated systems for the mining sector, plus experience in robotics research, computer programming and oil and gas engineering. He joined Osler as a summer student in 2012, articled with the firm in 2013 and 2014, and came back as an associate later that year.
