About John

John Siwiec is a partner at Perley-Robertson, Hill & McDougall with expertise in commercial disputes, international arbitration, commercial litigation and intellectual property, including complex contractual disputes arising from construction projects, shareholder and franchise agreements. He has served as counsel and arbitrator in institutional and ad hoc arbitrations and has appeared before courts including the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Siwiec previously worked at the United Nations International Law Commission and Global Affairs Canada, and has served as President of Young Canadian Arbitration Practitioners. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2011, holds both common law (2009) and civil law (2010) degrees from the University of Ottawa and a B.A. and M.A. from McGill University, and teaches international arbitration at the University of Ottawa's Law Faculty.
