About John
The Honourable John Evans is Goldblatt Partners' public law counsel, advising the firm and its clients on judicial review, appeals of administrative decisions, and tribunal procedure at both the federal and provincial levels. He served as a judge of the Federal Court of Appeal from 1999 to 2013, after being appointed to the Federal Court in 1998, writing decisions on labour and human rights law, immigration and refugee law, employment insurance, and other areas. Before joining the bench, John taught at the London School of Economics and spent 23 years on the Osgoode Hall Law School faculty, teaching administrative law, immigration law, and trust law. He has co-authored and edited leading administrative law texts, including Judicial Review of Administrative Action in Canada and de Smith's Judicial Review of Administrative Action. John has received the Mundell Medal for legal writing and the Medal of the Canadian Council of Administrative Tribunals.
