About Jessie
Jessie Stirling-Voss (Wa'ya T'so-la) is an associate at OKT and a member of the Wei Wai Kum First Nation in Campbell River, British Columbia, where she was born and raised. She holds a Juris Doctor and a Certificate in Aboriginal Legal Studies from the University of Toronto's Faculty of Law, along with a Certificate in Negotiation from Osgoode Hall Law School, and is a member of the Ontario bar. Jessie advises First Nations and regional First Nations organizations on governance, negotiation, and litigation, with a focus on child, youth, and family well-being, including supporting nations as they exercise jurisdiction over their own child and family services. She regularly appears before the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal and often speaks at conferences and law school classes on Indigenous law and child welfare. She is a past President and Chair of the Board of Aboriginal Legal Services and a founding member of the Canadian Registry for Wrongful Convictions.
