About Jessica
Jessica Gahtan is an associate focused on construction law, acting for a range of industry participants including project owners, general contractors, architects and engineers, subcontractors, and material suppliers involved in disputes. She has appeared before several courts and tribunals, among them the Superior Court of Justice in Ontario, Alberta's Court of King's Bench and Court of Appeal, and the Landlord and Tenant Board, and she regularly turns to mediation, arbitration and construction adjudication to resolve matters for clients. Before joining the firm, Jessica articled and practised at a mid-sized full-service firm, and her practice has since grown to include complex, multi-party construction disputes. She serves as Member-at-Large on the executive of the Ontario Bar Association's Construction and Infrastructure Law Section, co-edits the firm's Building Insight newsletter, and mentors summer and articling students. Jessica frequently lectures on topics such as construction contracts, prompt payment, adjudication and risk management.
