About Jeremy

Jeremy Newton is an owner of Advocate Law's Airdrie office. He earned his Juris Doctorate in 2011, then worked as a generalist lawyer before spending over ten years as a Federal Prosecutor, handling high-profile cases across Alberta and training police and correctional officers. Early in his career he took the Alberta government to court and won, with the case proceeding all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada and resulting in a law being overturned. As a prosecutor his most rewarding work involved non-traditional file resolutions, including drug treatment court and indigenous court. He is able to defend clients throughout Alberta.
