About Darren
Darren Tootoosis is a criminal defence lawyer at Advocate Law, called to the bar in 2022. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Native Studies, with a minor in Sociology, from the University of Alberta in 2017, and graduated from the University of Alberta's law program in 2021. Before law school he spent twelve years working in corrections, including counselling, risk assessment, and correctional program delivery with Correctional Service of Canada, before leaving to write Gladue Reports for Indigenous offenders. He is based in Advocate Law's Red Deer office and defends clients throughout Central Alberta.
