About Sophie
Sophie Qin is an associate who earned a JD from the University of Calgary in 2023 and was called to the bar in 2024. Sophie has a background in molecular biology, including an Honours Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science. During the JD, Sophie founded and served as president of the University of Calgary's Labour and Employment Law Association and was an avid mooter, representing the university in the Alberta Court of Appeal Constitutional Law Moot in 2022 and helping lead the team to runner-up in the Julius Alexander Isaac Moot in 2023. Sophie regularly provides pro bono legal advice through the Central Alberta Community Legal Clinic, with interests including access to justice, civil litigation, labour and employment law, human rights law, and environmental law.
