About Jay

Jay Moch is an associate at Mincher Koeman Law Chambers, called to the Alberta bar in 2020. Raised and educated in Calgary, he earned a Bachelor of Commerce and a Juris Doctor at the University of Calgary, where he founded the university's Pro Bono Students Canada Trans ID Clinic and was a founding member and later president of the Calgary section of OutLAW. He began his career at a large regional corporate law firm focusing on real estate, intellectual property and general corporate law, experience he now applies to separations and divorces involving business assets and real estate. As a member of the LGBTQA+ community, he focuses part of his practice on LGBTQA+ legal issues such as cohabitation agreements, fertility and surrogacy law, and separation and divorce, and continues to volunteer with the Trans ID Clinic.
