About Jennifer

Jennifer (Jen) Hanson is a partner at Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP practising primarily in municipal law and planning, development, and zoning law. Her work covers governance and municipal councils, municipal finance, by-laws and enforcement, municipal contracting, infrastructure and utilities, environmental law, and municipal reorganizations such as annexation and amalgamation. She also advises on municipal labour and employment law, arbitration and mediation, access to information and privacy law, and expropriation. Hanson earned a B.A. (Hons.) from the University of Manitoba in 2008 and a Juris Doctor en français from the Université d'Ottawa's law faculty in 2011, and was called to the Manitoba bar in 2012. She is fluently bilingual and practises in both French and English. Her services are provided through Jennifer S. Hanson Professional Law Corporation.
