About Jeffery

Jeffery L. Smith, K.C. has developed an extensive practice over more than 30 years in business law and litigation, having conducted trials at all levels in Alberta and argued cases at the Court of Appeal. His litigation practice includes builders' liens, building and construction, commercial and residential landlord/tenant matters, insurance litigation, personal injury litigation, real estate, and shareholder oppression actions, while his solicitor practice covers incorporations, corporate reorganizations, family and management trusts, and the purchase and sale of businesses and professional practices. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of New Brunswick in 1977 and his LLB from Dalhousie University in 1981, was called to the Alberta bar in 1984, and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2011. Jeff is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta and chairs the Calgary Jewish Federation's Community Relations Committee.
