About Jeff
Jeff Hergott is a partner practising corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate commercial law, advising issuers, investment dealers and other stakeholders on public offerings and private placements of equity and debt securities. His M&A work spans share and asset acquisitions, takeovers, joint ventures and going-public transactions, and he guides start-ups and growth companies from formation through financing rounds to eventual exits. Recent matters include acting for Givex Corp. on its acquisition by Shift4 Payments and for Heliene Inc. on financings totalling US$170 million. Jeff earned his LL.B. from the University of Windsor in 2006 and was called to the Ontario bar in 2007. He is recognized in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and Best Lawyers in Canada for his cannabis and corporate finance work, and he instructs with the Board Diversity Network.
