About Jacqueline

Jacqueline is a partner whose practice covers Canadian immigration and refugee law, with particular focus on cases raising Charter issues. She's argued before every level of court, including multiple appearances at the Supreme Court of Canada, and previously sat as a member of Canada's Immigration and Refugee Board from 2019 to 2020. She holds an LL.M. from Harvard Law School, an LL.B. from Queen's University, and a B.A. from the University of Guelph, and clerked at the Federal Court of Appeal after graduating. In 2024, the Minister of Justice appointed her a Special Advocate for cases touching on national security. She has taught at Osgoode Hall, the University of Ottawa, and Queen's, and co-authored two immigration and refugee law texts published by LexisNexis. She also co-founded the Refugee Sponsorship Support Program, a pro bono initiative that has helped resettle thousands of refugees in Canada.
