About Erin
Erin V. Simpson is a partner and co-founder of Landings LLP, which she formed in 2020 with Jacqueline Swaisland and Warda Shazadi Meighen. She practices in all areas of immigration and refugee law, appearing before the Immigration and Refugee Board, the Federal Court, and the Federal Court of Appeal. Her work includes a particular focus on Canada-U.S. border issues; since 2017 she has acted as counsel to the Canadian Council for Refugees, the Canadian Council of Churches, and Amnesty International in a constitutional challenge to the Safe Third Country Agreement. Erin began her legal career in 2013 as a law clerk at the Supreme Court of Canada, then joined Goldblatt Partners LLP before opening her own practice in 2016. She earned her J.D. at the University of Toronto, where she won the class prize in Evidence, and her B.A.H. at Queen's University. She has received the Ontario Bar Association's President's Award and Precedent Magazine's Precedent Setter Award, and speaks French and Spanish in addition to English.
