About Hayley
Hayley Smith conducts investigations across sectors on allegations relating to workplace policies, the Human Rights Code, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act, with particular expertise in files involving sexual and racial harassment and poisoned work environments. Smith also conducts audits and investigations for colleges, universities and hospitals. Before joining Turnpenney Milne LLP, Smith practised as a labour and employment associate at a national boutique firm and began a career as a commercial litigator, gaining experience before courts, administrative boards and tribunals. Smith contributes to the profession through writing and speaking, co-authoring articles for Canadian HR Reporter and HR News. Smith earned a law degree from Dalhousie University's Schulich School of Law and was called to the Ontario bar in 2018, and holds undergraduate degrees in History and Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
