About Harvey
Harvey Chaiton is a partner at Chaitons LLP whose practice centers on bankruptcy and insolvency, particularly receiverships and corporate restructurings, including related litigation. His court experience spans every level in Ontario as well as the Supreme Court of Canada, where he has argued cases involving the Personal Property Security Act, the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act, and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. His clients include financial institutions, private equity firms, asset-based lenders, trustees, and court-appointed receivers involved in cross-border restructuring and enforcement proceedings. He belongs to the Commercial List Users Committee, the Ontario Personal Property Security Law Committee, and the Insolvency Institute of Canada, and he lectures regularly on insolvency topics. Harvey studied at the University of Western Ontario, earned his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1980, and was called to the Ontario bar in 1982.
