About Harold
Harold Geller is a partner at Sotos LLP focusing on securities litigation, investor protection and financial services disputes. Over more than 30 years, he has represented retail investors and life insurance policyholders and beneficiaries across Canada in cases involving investment losses, unsuitable financial advice, professional negligence, advisor misconduct and denied insurance claims, appearing before the civil courts and the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments. He has helped more than 1,500 Canadians recover losses and is regularly consulted by regulators, lawyers and media on issues affecting investors, seniors and insurance consumers. Harold currently serves on the Financial Planning Association of Canada's Regulatory Committee and the Actuarial Profession Oversight Board, where he co-chairs its Public Interest Committee, and previously sat on the Ontario Securities Commission's Investor Advisory Panel and chaired OBSI's Consumer and Investor Advisory Council. He holds an LL.B. from Dalhousie University and was called to the Ontario bar in 1993.
