About Gillian
Gillian Burrell is a Partner, lawyer, and licensed patent agent at PCK IP, where she helps clients secure, enforce, and manage intellectual property across a range of industries. Her practice covers invention mining, patentability searches, and patent drafting and prosecution, along with opinions on non-infringement, invalidity, and freedom to operate. She has particular familiarity with patents in the biomedical, chemical, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, and consumer goods sectors, and also advises on trademark and copyright disputes, enforcement strategies, and cease-and-desist matters. Gillian was called to the Ontario bar in 2020 and became a licensed Canadian patent agent and USPTO practitioner in 2024. She holds a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Bachelor of Science with honours in biology and music from Queen's University.
