About Gavin

Gavin D.F. MacDonald is a partner in Cox & Palmer's Halifax office, called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2002. He holds a law degree from the University of Western Ontario and an economics degree from Mount Allison University. His practice focuses on business law, covering commercial transactions, corporate financing, and business restructuring and insolvency. He has acted for domestic and international lenders and borrowers on secured and unsecured financings, and has represented parties in complex insolvency proceedings, including as co-counsel for affected users in the Quadriga CX matter. Gavin has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in Canada and the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory for his work in banking and finance, insolvency, and corporate law. He is a former chair of the board of directors of the Halifax Chamber of Commerce.
