About Folami
Folami is an African-Nova Scotian whose community roots in Nova Scotia go back over 400 years. Her practice focuses on wills and estate planning, estate litigation, and general litigation, and she draws on restorative practices to bring reparative approaches to dispute resolution. She has provided estate planning services through the firm's People of African Descent Legal Services Initiative, which offers pro bono legal services to those in need. During law school she held a senator's seat at Dalhousie and served as Vice-President of the Dalhousie Black Law Student Association, and she now sits on the Advisory Council of Dalhousie's African Nova Scotian Strategy. Before law, she trained and practised as a midwife and registered practical nurse. She earned her J.D. from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in 2021 and was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2022.
