About Edward
Edward Babin has handled complex litigation in Canada for more than 30 years, having spent many of them as a senior partner in the litigation departments of Torys LLP and Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP. He has appeared at every level of court in Ontario and several other provinces, as well as the Yukon, the Federal Court, and the Supreme Court of Canada. His caseload spans contract, securities, corporate governance, oppression, competition, investment advisor, executive employment, insolvency, consumer, franchise, conspiracy, and fraud matters, plus sports-related work for NHL clubs and the CFL. He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and was named to Benchmark Litigation's Hall of Fame in 2026. Ed earned his LLB from Osgoode Hall in 1985 and an LLM from the London School of Economics in 1990, was called to the Ontario Bar in 1987, and holds a BA in Psychology from Concordia.
