About Cynthia

Cynthia Spry is a partner at Babin Bessner Spry LLP, which she joined in 2010 after practicing in the litigation departments of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP and Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP. Her commercial litigation practice includes class actions, shareholder disputes, competition law, and securities litigation, and she is frequently recommended as conflicts counsel by other major firms and has been qualified as an expert on Canadian shareholder dispute law in foreign proceedings. Cynthia appears before all levels of court in Ontario, including the Court of Appeal and the Commercial List, as well as before the Ontario Securities Commission and the Competition Tribunal. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2006 after earning her LL.B. from Queen's University and a BA in English Literature from the University of Guelph. Cynthia sits on the Board of Directors of the Advocates' Society, where she previously chaired its Commercial Practice Group, and she also volunteers as duty counsel at Law Society discipline hearings.
