About Doug
Doug LeFaive is a partner at Goldblatt Partners who advises trustees of multi-employer, target-benefit pension plans on complying with the complex web of provincial and federal pension law. His clients include jointly-trusteed and union-trusteed plans, some with members from more than one union, as well as trustees of health and welfare plans. He has persuaded regulators in New Brunswick and Quebec to change how they treat multi-jurisdictional plans, and he helped divide three multi-jurisdictional pension plans whose members spanned eight provinces. Doug also represents unions and individual plan members in disputes over their pension entitlements. A former journalist and offshore oilfield worker, he articled at the firm and was called to the Ontario bar in 2000. He sits on the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario's Technical Advisory Committee for Multi-Employer Pension Plans.
