About Don

Don MacDonald has extensive experience in securities and corporate law with clients and regulators across Canada. Don spent 25 years with one of Canada's leading financial services firms in senior legal roles, including Senior Vice-President, General Counsel, Secretary, and Chief Compliance Officer, advising on litigation, contracts, regulatory matters, mergers and acquisitions, enterprise risk management, and TSX disclosure and insider reporting requirements as a public company. Before that, Don was a lawyer with the Manitoba Securities Commission, ultimately serving as Deputy Director, Registrations and Enforcement, reviewing offering documentation and disclosure materials and conducting prosecutions and administrative proceedings. Don was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1984, holds an LL.B. from the University of Manitoba (1983) and an ICD.D from the Institute of Corporate Directors (2020), and teaches the Securities Law course at the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Law.
