About Adam

Adam Herstein leads Pitblado Law's Technology Law Group, with a practice spanning corporate, commercial, startup, information technology, and intellectual property law. Over the past two decades, Adam has advised technology-based and emerging growth businesses, along with incubators, accelerators, and investors in Manitoba's innovation ecosystem, on the acquisition, development, protection, and commercialization of technology and intellectual property, including its privacy law implications. Adam also practices in traditional business law areas such as mergers and acquisitions and financial and insurance services, and acts for non-profit and charitable organizations. Adam is a past Chair of the Manitoba Bar Association's Technology & Intellectual Property Law Section and a former director of the Canadian Technology Law Association (Can-Tech), and in 2025 was appointed to the Manitoba government's Innovation and Productivity Task Force. Adam holds an LL.B. from the University of Manitoba (1997) and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada for technology transactions work, including being named 'Lawyer of the Year' in Winnipeg for Information Technology Law in the 2023 edition.
