About Priscilla

Priscilla Sternat-McIvor is one of two founding partners of Sternat Manaigre Law Corporation, one of few Indigenous-owned law firms in Manitoba. A member of Sandy Bay First Nation, she focuses her practice on child protection and family law, representing individuals, First Nation communities, and child welfare agencies across Manitoba. She was called to the bar in 2002 after articling with the Legal Aid Child Protection Law Office. Earlier in her career she served as legal counsel to the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs on self-government negotiations and as Chief of Political Staff for the Grand Chief, before moving into private practice. She has served as Vice President on the Board of Directors for the First Nations of Southern Manitoba Network of Care and continues to speak with students in First Nation communities about careers in law.
