About Derek

Derek R. Schnare earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and Geography from Saint Mary's University before graduating from Dalhousie Law School in 2009. He completed his articles at Chester Law, was called to the bar in 2010, and became a partner in 2016. His practice focuses on real estate, accident and personal injury, wills and estates, and civil litigation, and he also acts as an agent for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada. He is a Scouter with Scouts Canada's 1st Five Island Lake Cub Pack, a former board director for Our Health Centre Association, and a founding board member of East Coast Environmental Law. Derek R. Schnare grew up in Deep Cove, Lunenburg County.
