About Derek

Derek M. Wells graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 1972 and articled with Stewart McKelvey & Covert in Halifax and with Ralph Hennigar in Chester before joining Hennigar as a partner in 1973, at the firm now known as Chester Law. He is a former solicitor for the Municipality of Chester and a former Member of Parliament and municipal councillor. He was designated King's Counsel in 1992 and served as a member of the Bar Council. His practice focuses on real estate and wills and estates. Derek M. Wells grew up in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, has six children and thirteen grandchildren with his wife Alison, and is an avid golfer and member of the Chester Golf Club.
