About David
David Wallace is a partner in McInnes Cooper's Halifax office, ranked by Best Lawyers for his mergers and acquisitions and corporate law practice. With close to two decades of experience spanning Bay Street and Atlantic Canada, he leads complex transactions for clients ranging from venture-backed startups to established enterprises, and has guided clients through entity formation, governance, growth financing, acquisitions, and strategic exits. His practice also touches intellectual property, technology, real estate, and shareholder disputes, including asset and share purchase agreements, debt and equity financings, joint ventures, and IP licensing arrangements. David is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society, the Law Society of Ontario, and the Canadian Bar Association, and taught corporate transactions at Dalhousie University's Schulich School of Law for seven years. He earned his J.D. from Dalhousie University in 2011 and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of British Columbia in 2006, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2012 and the Nova Scotia bar in 2016.
