David has more than 50 years of experience as a lawyer in Newfoundland and Labrador, with a practice focused on personal injury (acting for plaintiffs), general civil litigation, family law, real estate, wills and estates, and corporate and commercial matters. He was called to the Newfoundland and Labrador bar in 1973 and appointed Queen's Counsel in 2004. He has served as a long-time executive member and past president of the Newfoundland Branch of the Canadian Bar Association, as well as on the association's national executive.
