Christopher Deeble was called to the Ontario bar in 2009 and has practiced family law litigation since then and mediation since 2017. He is dually accredited as a Family Mediator and Intergenerational Mediator through the Ontario Association for Family Mediation. Before law, he worked in policy, legislation, and communications, including as a parliamentary speechwriter and senior government official for the Deputy Prime Minister and the Governor General. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Law in 2008, where his thesis examined Canada's surrogacy ban, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Translation and Interpretation (1994). He belongs to the LGBTQ+ Bar Association and Foundation and the American Bar Association, has taught law at the community college level, and has judged the Walsh Family Law Negotiation Competition since 2020.
