Business & Corporate LawChris Borden leads McInnes Cooper's Aerospace & Defence Group and serves as Office Lead Partner of the firm's Moncton office. With more than 30 years of experience, his corporate and commercial practice spans energy, natural resources, and the aerospace and defence sector, covering mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution. He is closely involved with innovation initiatives including NATO's DIANA program and COVE, helping early-stage dual-use technology companies navigate procurement and regulatory pathways, and he has spoken at NATO DIANA's security conference in Munich on defence procurement in Canada. Chris previously served as in-house counsel to a regional downstream oil company and an international aquaculture enterprise, and has held leadership roles on McInnes Cooper's board of directors. He completed the Directors Education Program with the Institute of Corporate Directors and holds a Qualified Arbitrator designation from the ADR Institute of Canada. He earned his LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick in 1994 and was called to the New Brunswick bar in 1995 and the Nova Scotia bar in 1998.
