About Chelsey
Chelsey N. Gavelin (nee Sherloski) graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 2020 with her Juris Doctor and has practiced family law since being called to the Alberta bar in 2021. She has successfully advocated for clients at the Alberta Court of Justice and Court of King's Bench, though she believes family disputes are best resolved outside the courtroom through alternative dispute resolution. Chelsey also has a background in estate and trust planning, which allows her to identify unique estate law issues that arise when negotiating family matters and to help clients update their estate planning documents after a change in relationship status. She earned a marketing degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2017 before her JD, and volunteers with the Women's Center of Calgary and YW Calgary through their free legal advice clinics. Chelsey is a member of the Calgary Bar Association, the Law Society of Alberta, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Alberta Bar Association.
