About Shayla

Shayla J. Domin was called to the Alberta bar in 2025 and has focused her practice on family law, including parenting matters, child support, spousal support, and property division, representing clients both in court and through alternative dispute resolution. Prior to entering the legal profession, she worked as a counsellor with the Government of Alberta, supporting families facing complex challenges, an experience that shaped her client-centred approach. Shayla earned a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of York and a Bachelor of Health Science in Addictions Counselling from the University of Lethbridge, and completed her NCA requirements at the University of Calgary. She volunteers with the YW Calgary free family law advice clinic and is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Association of Women's Lawyers, the Calgary Bar Association, and the Canadian Bar Association.
