Administrative & Regulatory LawCarly Peddle is an associate at MacKay Boyar, focusing on criminal, regulatory, administrative, and civil litigation. She has appeared before numerous regulatory bodies as well as the BC Supreme Court, all levels of court in Ontario, and the Supreme Court of Canada. Before joining the firm, she spent nearly three years at a criminal law firm in Toronto, representing clients at trial and on appeal, and also worked on civil and administrative matters including police misconduct proceedings. In 2022, she acted as Commission Counsel to Justice Hourigan on Ottawa's Light Rail Transit Inquiry, examining the circumstances behind breakdowns and derailments on the city's LRT system. Carly received her JD from the University of British Columbia in 2018 as a Wesbrook Scholar, UBC's highest commendation, after volunteering extensively for non-profit legal organizations in the Downtown Eastside during law school. She served as a judicial law clerk at the BC Supreme Court and completed her articles with the BC Prosecution Service in Surrey, and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2020 and the Ontario bar (non-practising) in 2020.
