About Candace

Candace Rissley is an associate at Velletta Pedersen Christie focusing solely on family law, including separation and divorce, parenting arrangements, support claims, protection matters, and cohabitation and prenuptial agreements. She grew up in Victoria, completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Victoria, and earned her JD from the University of Calgary in 2022, where she was an award-winning mock trial competitor and volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and Student Legal Assistance. She joined VPC in early 2025 and has served as parents' counsel in child protection cases involving the Ministry of Children and Family Development. She's a member of the Victoria Bar Association, treasurer of the Vancouver Island Women Lawyers' Association, and a member of the CBA's Young Lawyers section.
