About Ciara

Ciara McLean is an associate at Velletta Pedersen Christie focusing on immigration law, particularly economic immigration, helping businesses hire and retain international talent and guiding workers through the permanent residency process, as well as family sponsorship applications. She grew up partly in Winnipeg speaking German before moving to Victoria, studied at the University of Victoria, the Universitat Bonn in Germany, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a study term in Brussels, and earned her law degree from the University of Western Ontario. She articled in Victoria and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2009, and later completed an Immigration Consulting Diploma from Ashton College in 2020. She volunteered for a year at a foundation for street children in Romania before law school and has continued to volunteer with humanitarian organizations.
