Wills, Estates & TrustsClifford Chiu practices civil litigation, handling commercial, estate, and personal injury matters, as well as family law. He favours a practical approach that works toward fair resolution through mediation and other out-of-court processes, while remaining ready to go to trial when necessary. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton University in 1988 and his law degree from the University of Victoria in 1991, and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1993. Before entering private practice he worked as federal Crown counsel and as counsel for the Director of the Ministry of Children and Family Development, and he has extensive experience as an independent insurance adjuster handling bodily injury and property claims. He has conducted numerous trials in the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia and has taught at the Professional Legal Training Course. He belongs to the Canadian Bar Association, the Victoria Bar Association, and the Law Society of British Columbia, and has served as Appeals Chair for the BC Amateur Hockey Association.
