About Cal

Cal Hunter is a senior associate whose corporate law practice focuses on private fund formation, private equity and mergers and acquisitions. He advises fund sponsors throughout the process of forming private market funds and raising capital, and represents public pension plans and institutional investors investing in venture capital, buy-out, hedge fund and infrastructure vehicles, as well as co-investment deals. His clients have included major institutional investors such as OTPPB, PSPIB, OMERS, AIMCo, IMCO and CPP Investments. Cal's practice also extends to general M&A, capital markets and corporate matters. During law school, he volunteered with the Legal Information Society of Nova Scotia, providing free legal information to the public, and later took part in the Law in Action Within Schools program supporting high school students.
