About Boris Alexander

Boris Alexander is a senior lawyer on the employment side of Unified LLP, with clients on both sides of the desk: employees and employers. Alexander's work reaches across the whole of employment law rather than one narrow corner of it.

That work isn't confined to the office. Alexander has represented clients in the Small Claims Court and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Ontario Labour Relations Board.

The road to Unified started with articles at a tax litigation firm, followed by work at labour and employment firms, including time as an associate at Monkhouse Law. That path has covered small, mid-size and large firms, and in-house settings too. From 2022 to 2024, Alexander led the authorship of the employment volume of LexisNexis's Canadian Forms & Precedents, a practice tool for other lawyers. Alexander has also been a guest lecturer at universities, colleges and conferences. In 2026, Alexander co-wrote articles with Gil Fischler and Christopher Kim on temporary layoffs and on whether unionized workers can be ordered back to the office.

Among clients, Alexander has a reputation for being empathetic and transparent, and makes a point of making sure people feel heard. Clients can work with Alexander in English or Russian. Outside the office, there's a long travel list (30 countries so far), and Korean is the language currently being learned.
