Civil Litigation & Dispute ResolutionBen Durnford is a partner in McInnes Cooper's Halifax office practising asset recovery, insolvency and restructuring, and corporate and commercial law. He represents secured and unsecured creditors in matters under the Personal Property Security Act, the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act, and has appeared before courts in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador as well as the Federal Court of Canada. Ben works within the firm's Asset Recovery and Insolvency Group, providing support to receivers, trustees, monitors and other statutory office holders on insolvencies in Canada and the Eastern Caribbean. He is a past chair of the Nova Scotia chapter of the Canadian Bar Association's Bankruptcy and Insolvency Section and has guest lectured on bankruptcy and insolvency at Dalhousie Law School. He earned his LL.B. from Dalhousie University in 2000 and was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2001.
