About Ashley Brown

Ashley Brown is a partner at Filion Wakely Thorup Angeletti LLP who acts for employers, unionized and non-unionized alike, on labour and employment matters. Those clients range from small organizations to large ones, in the public sector as well as private industry, and Ashley both advises them and represents them when a dispute needs an advocate.

Called to the Ontario bar in 2010, Ashley built a career in management-side labour and employment law at a Toronto firm devoted to that field and at a full-service firm in southeastern Ontario before the move to Filion in 2018. Today Ashley works with clients from the firm's Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo offices.

Ashley is often invited to speak at conferences, lead seminars and contribute to publications. Ashley is one of the co-authors of Thomson Reuters' Ontario Human Rights Code: Quick Reference, now in its 2026 edition, and has written for Canadian Employment Law Today on topics like addiction at work and whether body size could become a human rights ground. Talks have run from workplace investigations at the 1000 Islands Legal Conference in 2019 to contractor safety at a regional health and safety conference in 2024.
