About Art

Art Stacey is a partner at TDS whose practice focuses on a wide range of commercial and property matters, with an emphasis on agribusiness ventures across Western Canada. He often acts for entrepreneurs and business people in start-up situations, structuring transactions, arranging financing, and providing ongoing legal support to commercial clients. Art has been instrumental in starting and organizing six short-line railroads in Western Canada, a cross-border durum growing cooperative, and other new business ventures, and he acts for banks and secured lenders providing financing to a variety of businesses. He also has significant experience in insolvency matters, acting for both lenders and borrowers in restructuring and workout arrangements and enforcement of remedies for secured lenders. He holds an LL.B. from the University of Manitoba (1982) and was called to the Manitoba bar in 1985.
